Alcohol & Drugs
Alcohol and drugs carry known health risks. Be especially cautious when the temperature exceeds 20°C, as both substances can raise your body temperature. Combined with dancing and dehydration, this can quickly lead to overheating. Make sure to drink enough water — but not too much: limit to 1–2 glasses per hour. Drinking too much water too quickly can lead to water intoxication, which can be fatal. Fatalities at festivals are most often caused by overheating or water intoxication, often linked to alcohol or drug use. So take breaks, stay cool, and look out for one another. Test your drugs before the festival, on-site drug testing is not available. For more info, visit: www.drugsenuitgaan.nl and www.unity.nl

-
Medical Help
If you’re not feeling well, or if a friend is unwell, go to the First Aid area. Our trained medical staff is there to help. Be open about any alcohol or drug use, the more they know, the better they can assist. Don’t worry: your privacy is protected by medical confidentiality, and no police report will be filed.
-
After the Festival
Unsafe or non-consensual sex occurs more frequently when alcohol or drugs are involved. Respect each other. Learn more about safe sex at www.sense.info/soas.
Also remember: alcohol and drugs impair your focus and reaction time, increasing the risk of accidents. Stop using substances well before heading home, and make sure your method of transportation is safe. Before going to sleep, drink water or an isotonic beverage to help restore your fluid balance.
